Vote Mismatch in 538 Seats, Reveals Detailed Multidisciplinary Analysis of 2024 Polls
A detailed multidisciplinary analysis of the 2024 election figures carried out by the ‘Vote For Democracy’, (VFD) a Maharashtra based collective of academics and social activists, has revealed shocking discrepancies in the polling and counting processes. The VFD’s 266 page report titled, ‘Conduct of Lok Sabha Elections 2024’, ‘Analysis of Vote Manipulation and Misconduct during Voting and Counting’ points out that the discrepancies in terms of tabulation and addition of votes as well as polling and counting are evident in as many as 538 seats out of the total 543.
The Report, prepared under the watchful eye and data expertise of retired IAS Officer and transparency activist, Shri. M.G Devasahayam and Dr. Pyara Lal Garg also pointed out that the victory of the BJP led NDA in as many as 79 seats across 15 States is directly related to the vote mismatch.
Here, academics Professor Sebastian Morris and Professor Harish Karnick, who were part of the team that carried out the analysis, join with writer and Social Activist Teesta Setalvad to discuss the salient points of the VFD Report. The full Report can be accessed here.
