The Causes Behind the Haryana Communal Violence: And Why is it Spreading to Delhi?

A number of disturbing questions have come up in the context of the communal violence that has engulfed Haryana over the last three days and the manner in which it is spreading to neighbouring regions including Delhi, Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh. There are striking similarities to a repeating political narrative and project previously tried out in the run-ups to earlier elections in several States and the Centre.

The AIDEM discusses the varied issues related to the obviously orchestrated violence in the Nuh district of Haryana and its political ramifications. The panel consists of Aridaman Jit Singh, a former BSF Officer and a Security Affairs Specialist who has done a lot of groundwork in the region, Sheetal P. Singh, political analyst and senior journalist and Venkitesh Ramakrishnan, Managing Editor of The AIDEM.

Discussion anchored by senior journalist Anand Haridas. The discussion unravels the complex social mechanisms at work, which are constantly under attack by the forces of communalism. KSFE_ad-1024x1024 (1).webp
