Recently, news reports came in about the killing of Dalit students in classrooms by their teachers, allegedly for horrifyingly trivial reasons such as touching a pot of water meant for upper castes and for making a spelling mistake in the class test. The ugly and violent face of caste violence still overshadows humanity in Indian society.
